People Are Fleeing Florida’s Prices and Politics
Florida is quickly changing in several critical areas of life, hinting at further division in the future.
Five people I know have announced they’re moving out of state in the past week alone. Three are already gone, one setting into their comfy new home in New Mexico and another landing in Michigan. As I type this, I’m waiting for the details of where the third family wound up.
On the business side of things, my girlfriend lost four high-paying clients this week.
They all mentioned leaving because of Florida’s outrageous politics under Ron DeSantis. Florida is rapidly changing with Governor DeSantis at the helm. Many people disapprove of DeSantis’ antics.
Basketball superstar and three-time NBA champion Dwayne Wade left Florida as it’s become anti-trans under the DeSantis regime. Wade said his family “would not be accepted or feel comfortable there,” considering Wade’s daughter is transgender.
There are other reasons people are leaving Florida. For years now, Florida has been home to some of the most unaffordable cities, with my city of Orlando often topping the list as the most unaffordable city in the country several times over.
